01. SAT. Arrival in Addis Ababa. Transfer to the chosen hotel. Have a free morning. Afternoon (1400 hrs from the hotel) tour of the capital: visit Entoto mountain with views over the capital, the National museum, St George church and the Mercato, biggest open air market in Africa. 02. Fly to Bahirdar. Morning drive to visit the Blue Nile falls (it takes about 1 hour drive and then 15 minutes’ walk). Admire these spectacular falls. Afternoon make a boat excursion on lake Tana to visit the monasteries over its islands, as Ura Kidane Mehret and Asua Mariam.

03. Morning drive to Gondar. It takes about 2 hrs driving, visit on the way very nice landscapes, lake Tana and Amhara people villages. 04. Fly to Lalibela. Transfer hotel. Afternoon visit the rock-hewn churches, defined as the 8th wonder in the world. Dinner & ON hotel

05. Morning drive to visit Naktuleab cave church. Or you can choose to walk (or with mules) to the Asheten Mariam church, with spectacular views too. Afternoon visit the remaining churches in town. 6: MizanTeferi – Tulgit
Drive to the unique Surma people. Here women wear circular or trapezoidal shaped plates into their lips. Men have different scarification all over their body. Lunch on the way; dinner & ON camp near to Tulgit

7: Tulgit – Kibish
Drive to Kibish, admiring very nice views. Visit the Surma people around Kibish. With luck we’ll participate to a donga game, which is a stick fighting ritual. Lunch on the way; dinner & ON camping

8: Kibish

9: Kibish – Adikas
Drive to Adikas & proceed to the Omo National park. It is the biggest and richest of fauna park in Ethiopia. Late afternoon game drive. Dinner & ON camp

10: Adikas – Nyangatom
Morning game drive. Then drive to visit the Nyangatom people and their villages, with their particular culture and way of life. Dinner & ON camping, next to a village

11: Nyangatom – Mursi
Continue to the Omo river, and visit the Mursi people. Women put circular plates into their lips; men scarifications to indicate the number of enemies or wild animals killed. Lunch on the way; dinner & ON camping, at bank of the river.

1: Kampala
Meet the group in Kampala (eventually at EBB) and proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. After a short stop on the equator we will have lunch. On the afternoon we enter on the National Park. This is a very beautiful national park, with a lake onthe middle where we will camp. On this park it is possible to see zebra, buffalo, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and if lucky, leopards.
Optional it is possible to take a small boat trough the lake.

2: Lake Mburo-Mbarara town-Lake Bunyonyi
Very early in the morning we will do a game walk with rangers trough the savanna. It is very interesting and beautiful to see the animals while we walk and because on most parks it is forbidden. We leave Lake Mburo behind and we pass trough Mbarara town. Depending on which area we have been given the Gorilla permits, we will sleep in Lake Bunyonyi (camping) or in the bordering village of Kisoro (local hotel).

3: Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes -Bwindi or Kisoro
Using smaller vehicles, we will approach to the area where the gorillas live. Gorilla tracking on Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes NP. Night in Ruhengeri (Rwanda), Bwindi or Kisoro, depending on which area we have been given the Gorilla permits.

4: Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes – Bunyonyi
Gorilla tracking on Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes NP (it may be possible to do the tracking this day in stead of the previous day, depending on availability). Nigh in Lake. Bunyonyi. Camping.

5: Queen Elisabeth National park
We leave the lake very early in the morning and we proceed to Queen Elisabeth National park. On this park is very easy to see our first elephants and also possible to see lions. The park hast to big lakes, Edward and George connected by the Kazinga channel. Late on the afternoon we will take a boat trough the channel. Its amazing to see such a big number of hippos and buffaloes near Nile crocodiles, occasionally we may see also elephants or even lions!. We will camp on the park.

6: Kyambura
We will do early game drive trough the park in search of wildlife. Those interested in primates, optionally can do a trekking on Kyambura gorge looking for chimps. In the afternoon we will cross the equator for the second time and we will travel parallel to the Mountains of the moon through green lush landscape. Mountains of the moon hotel.

7: Fort Portal to Kampala – White Nile
We will drive from Fort Portal to Kampala (possibility to end/start the trip) and after to the White Nile. Our tented camp is in a beautiful location in front of an island. Free afternoon. Tented camp.

8: River Shores
Possibility (not included) to do one of the best and most attractive rafting in the world or to chill out on the river shores. Tented camp.

9: Kenya
(possibility to end/start the trip). We leave behind Uganda and We enter in Kenya. We will drive trough beautiful landscapes covered with green tea plantations. Tea hotel.

10: Maasai Lands
Driving through Maasai Lands we finally reach Masai Mara Reserve. In the next 2 days we will cruise through its endless savannah looking for wildlife. We will spent the night in a basic campsite that overlooks the acacia spotted plains. It is very likely that these days we will see the great Migration.

12: Lake Victoria
Crossing the border into Tanzania we reach Lake Victoria, the biggest in Africa and the 2nd biggest in the world. We will camp on Lake Victoria shore.

13: Serengeti
After a morning Boat excursion where we can visit a fishermen village, we enter the emblematic Serengeti. Driving through the Western Corridor, we will start encountering wildlife, further in the national park we will let Nature seduce us with its most genuine manifestation of fauna. We will spend the night in a tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti surrounded by spectacular views.

14: Serengeti-Mara River – Seronera
Morning and afternoon game drives through the beautiful savannah, observing abundant wildlife in its most natural habitat. Depending on the time of the year, it is also possible we will encounter part of the great Migration here, on its way to cross the Mara River. We will spend a 2nd night in a tented camp in Seronera, the heart of the Serengeti.

15: Ngorongoro-Oldupai Gorge
Leaving behind the Infinite Savannah, we enter Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, on our way to the top of the crater we stop in Oldupai Gorge where the oldest hominid footsteps so far discovered (dating back to 3.8 million years) were found. We will spend the night in a basic lodge that overlooks the crater, at an altitude of 2200mts.

16: Ngorongoro – Lake eyasi
With the first sun beams we will descend to Ngorongoro Crater, this time with our 4wd vehicles. Also known as Noah’s Arch, Ngorongoro is famous for the variety and density of animals that can be found. After six hours of game drive we ill drive to Lake Eyasi. Camping on the shore of the lake.

17: Lake Eyasi-Datoga-Hadzabe
Lake Eyasi area is habitat of 2 of Tanzania’s most ancient tribes; the Datoga, who part form the Masai and the Hadzabe hunters-gatherers. Accompanied by a local guide we will have the opportunity of sharing the every day life of these 2 tribes. Camping on the shore of the lake.

18: Arusha-Mt. Meru-Mt. Kilimanjaro
Drive back to Arusha, one of Tanzania’s most important cities. After the beautiful view of Mt. Meru, we will reach our lodge from where you can perfectly contemplate the awesome Mt. Kilimanjaro – The Roof of Africa. Night in a perfectly equipped lodge.

19: Swahili Coast-Usambara Mountains
On our way towards the Swahili Coast we divert our course and drive up the Usambara Mountains. Dotted with villages, this gracious though unknown rural area provides us with the possibility of learning about agriculture and traditional medicines. After an afternoon walk with a local Sambara guide we reach our campsite, in midst of the mountains.

20: Tanga-Zanzibar-Kendwa
Back on the road that leads to the coast, we reach Tanga. We embark on board of light aircraft and after a short 45-minute flight we land in Zanzibar. A minibus takes us up north to the white beaches of Kendwa with its turquoise clear waters. Bungalows on the beach.

21: Zanzibar
These 2 days in the north of Zanzibar are perfect for doing snorkelling, practice diving, go on a dolphin excursion or else just sunbathe on the beach enjoying the paradisiacal scenery. Bungalows on the beach.

1: Kampala _ Lake Mburo National Park –
Arrival in Kampala and proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. After a short stop on the equator we will have lunch. On the afternoon we enter on the National Park. This is a very beautiful national park, with a lake on the middle where we will camp. We’ll admire zebra, buffalo, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and if lucky, leopards.

2: Lake Mburo – Mbarara
Game walk with rangers trough the savanna. It is very interesting and beautiful to see the animals while we walk. We leave Lake Mburo behind and we pass trough Mbarara town. Depending on which area we have been given the Gorilla permits, we will sleep in Lake Bunyonyi (camping) or bordering village of Kisoro (local hotel).

3: Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes NP – Ruhengeri
Using smaller vehicles, we will approach to the area where the gorillas live.

4: Bwindi/Mt Gahinga/ Volcanoes NP – Lake Bunyoni

the tracking this day instead of the previous day, depending on availability). Nigh
in Lake Bunyonyi. Camping.

5: Queen Elisabeth National Park
Proceed to Queen Elisabeth National park. Here admire elephants, lions, and many other animals. Edward and George lakes connected by the Kazinga channel make the park so interesting. Late on the afternoon we will take a boat trough the channel. Its amazing to see such a big number of hippos and buffaloes near Nile crocodiles. Lunch box; ON camp

6: Kyambura
Early game drive. Those interested in primates, optionally can do a trekking on Kyambura gorge looking for chimps. In the afternoon we will cross the equator for the second time and we will travel parallel to the Mountains of the moon through green lush landscape. ON hotel.

7: Kampala – White Nile –
We drive from Fort Portal to Kampala and after to the White Nile. Our tented camp is in a beautiful location in front of an island. Free afternoon. Tented camp. (here some clients can end the tour; or other clients can arrive and start the tour for the next part. Or on day 08)

8: Free day Jinja
Free day Jinja. Possibility (not included) to do one of the best and most attractive rafting in the world or to chill out on the river shores. Tented camp.

9: Uganda – Kenya
We leave behind Uganda and we enter in Kenya. We will drive trough beautiful landscapes covered with green tea plantations. Tea hotel or other.

10: Masai Mara Reserve
We enter into the Masai Mara Reserve. In the next 2 days we will cruise through its endless savannah admiring the wildlife. We will spend the night in a basic campsite that overlooks the acacia spotted plains.

12: Lake Victoria
Crossing the border into Tanzania we reach Lake Victoria, the biggest in Africa
and the 2nd biggest in the world. We will camp on Lake Victoria shore.

13: Serengeti National park
After a morning boat excursion where we can visit a fishermen village, we enter
the emblematic Serengeti National park. Driving through the Western Corridor, we will start encountering wildlife, further in the national park we will let Nature seduce us with its most genuine manifestation of fauna. We will spend the night in a tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti surrounded by spectacular views.

14: Savannah
Morning and afternoon game drives through the beautiful savannah, observing
abundant wildlife in its most natural habitat. Depending on the time of the year, it is also possible we will encounter part of the great Migration here.

15: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area – Oldupai
Leaving behind the Infinite Savannah, we proceed to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, on our way to the top of the crater we stop in Oldupai Gorge where the oldest hominid footsteps so far discovered (dating back to 3.8 million years) were found, and visit a Masai people village, with very interesting culture. Lunch box; ON lodge.

16: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Eyasi
With the first sunset descend to Ngorongoro Crater, this time with our 4wd vehicles. Also known as Noah’s Arch, Ngorongoro is famous for the variety & density of animals that can be found. Lunch box. After six hours of game drive we will drive to Lake Eyasi. Camping on the shore of the lake.

17: Lake Eyasi
Lake Eyasi area is habitat of 2 of Tanzania’s most ancient tribes; the Datoga,
who’s part form the Masai and the Hadzabe hunters-gatherers. Accompanied by a local guide we will have the opportunity of sharing the every day life of these 2 tribes. Camping on the shore of the lake.

18: Arusha
Drive back to Arusha, one of Tanzania’s most important cities. After the beautiful view of Mt. Meru, we will reach our lodge from where you can perfectly contemplate the awesome Mt. Kilimanjaro – The Roof of Africa. Shopping. ON lodge.

19: Swahili Coast – Usambara Mountains
On our way towards the Swahili Coast we divert our course and drive up the
Usambara Mountains. Dotted with villages, this gracious though unknown rural area
provides us with the possibility of learning about agriculture and traditional
medicines. After an afternoon walk with a local Sambara guide we reach our campsite, in midst of the mountains.

20: Tanga – Zanzibar
Back on the road that leads to the coast, we reach Tanga. We embark on board of light aircraft and after a short 45-minute flight we land in Zanzibar. A minibus takes us up north to the white beaches of Kendwa with its turquoise clear waters. Bungalows on the beach.

21: North of Zanzibar
These 2 days in the north of Zanzibar are perfect for doing snorkeling,
practice diving, go on a dolphin excursion or else just sunbathe on the beach
enjoying the paradisiacal scenery. Bungalows on the beach.

23: Stonetown
This last day we drive back to Stonetown, the capital of the isle, marked by its
Swahili past. We can take the Spice tour or simply walk through its narrow allies
and history laden streets, enjoying its peoples, markets and architecture. Night in Mtoni Marine hotel, off the center of Stonetown, or similar.

24: Stonetown Zanzibar Airport
Drive to stone town Zanzibar airport for your flight back home.

1: DarEsSelam
Arrival to DarEsSelam. Check-in hotel. Visit the town, the pugu hills, the beaches, the Kunduchi ruins, and if time permits make shopping at the Msasani splipway weekend craft market. ON 4* hotel (Chosen Breezes hotel or other) (supplement given for 5* as Kempisky hotel or other)

2: Selous
Fly to Selous game reserve, a 48,000 kmq reserve, which occupies 5% of Tanzania. Admire large numbers of elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, zebras, lot of antelopes and birds and with luck spot the black rhino. Is a not much frequented by tourists; so the paradise for those customers which like more privacy and time just to see these spectacular views, flora and fauna. ON Rufiji River Camp or Sable Mountain Lodge or lake Manza Tented camp (for luxury services we propose Selous Safari or The Retreat or Sand Rivers Selous)

4: Ruaha
Early morning game drive. Lunch. Then fly to Ruaha, second biggest National park in Tanzania (40,000 kmq). Is home of numerous elephants, buffaloes, greater & lesser kudu, ostrich, Grant gazelles, chitas, many antelopes, and more than 400 species of birds (especially visible next to the Great Ruaha River). Fantastic views also from different hills, which reach till 1,600 mts of altitude too. ON Ruaha River lodge or Mdonya Old River camp (for cheaper options: Ruaha Hilltop lodge or Tandala tented camp)

7: Zanzibar
Morning game drive. Lunch. Fly then to Zanzibar. Meet your vehicles, which with a short cross of the town, will bring you to your hotel, at the shores of these fantastic beaches. 8: Jozani forest
Relax at your hotels, with activities, diving, swimming, cycling, walking, exploration of the villages, and more. The exploration of Jozani forest for the red colubus monkeys is also organized, if requested. ON Breezes hotel or similar

9: Stone Town
A guided tour of stone town include the slaves market, St Joseph’s cathedral, the Beit El-Ajaib & Beit El-Sahel, mosques, Hamamni Persian baths, Livingston house, the spice markets, and much more. Walking into these narrow streets, by visiting how the local people leave-meet-and enjoy, the shops, colors, history and more, are so exciting. Lunch is organized in a relaxed restaurant with view over the sea at stone town. And finally back for a wonderful sunset, relax, dinner, some music and a good night at your hotel. 10: Zanzibar
Free day for relax. Optional trip to visit the dolphins, or an excursion to Prison Island, can be organized, at supplement cost.
